CHAMPION MATERNAL HEALTH:

Support Our Maternal Health Equity Project

Supporting maternal health is not just a choice but a pressing need for the well-being of both mothers and their children. Maternal health significantly impacts the health of future generations and ensuring that mothers have access to adequate healthcare and social care can transform entire communities. Unfortunately, the United States has one of the highest maternal mortality rates among developed countries, with about 1,205 pregnancy-related deaths occurring in 20211. Moreover, Black women are three to four times more likely than white women to die from pregnancy-related causes. Addressing these disparities is not just crucial but urgent to improving maternal health outcomes and ensuring that all mothers receive the care and support they need. The time to act is now.

Join Us in Promoting Health and Well-Being for Mothers Across the Nation. Your support is crucial in this mission.

The Equality Health Foundation’s Healthy Mama Festivals are not just about promoting maternal health and well-being. They are about building a stronger, healthier community, and your support can make a significant difference. These annual events, held nationwide, provide a wealth of resources and educational activities for mothers and soon-to-be mothers. Attendees can benefit from medical screenings, including free immunizations, vaccines, flu shots, and meet and greets with OB/Gyns. The festivals also feature the March of Dimes BabyMobile Health Center and distribute over 1,000 diaper bags filled with essential resources. These festivals are more than just health fairs; they are community gatherings that empower women with the knowledge and tools they need to ensure a healthy pregnancy and postpartum period, and they are made possible by the support of people like you and our community partners and sponsors.
