(PHOENIX) June 24, 2020 — The Equality Health Foundation, a leading advocate in combatting health disparities rooted in economic, racial and social conditions announces that the free COVID-19 drive-thru testing event for Saturday, June 27 has reached its registration capacity and has ended registration. Only confirmed drive-thru appointments will be accommodated.

The event, which is open to the community at large, received an overwhelming response and has already received hundreds of requests for online registration on its website. Operational improvements are already being implemented based on the learnings from the previous testing event on June 20, including an ‘appointment only’ model. Changes also include expanded on-site contactless paperwork processing, technology improvements and faster administration of the test.

People who pre-registered online must receive a confirmed registration appointment time for June 27. They should call 602-889-9401 if they haven’t been contacted yet or for additional questions. They can also visit the event website at www.equalityhealthfoundation.org/phx for more details. People who secured an appointment for the June 27 testing event are also asked to not arrive earlier than their scheduled time. A face mask or face covering is required at the testing site. Registrants will not be required to provide ID or proof of insurance, but accurate contact information is needed to follow-up with test results and care guidance if required.

Information about other organizations offering testing can be found at www.azdhs.gov. People are encouraged to get screened for testing if they have been exposed to someone with the COVID-19 virus or are experiencing flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath or loss of smell and/or taste.

This free drive-thru testing service for COVID-19 is being provided in partnership with the Equality Health Foundation, city of Phoenix, Sonora Quest Laboratories and Equality Care Center. The testing will occur at Desert West Park and Sports Complex, 6602 W. Encanto Blvd., Phoenix (enter the parking lot from Encanto Boulevard, just east of 67th Avenue).
